Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), born in Salzburg, Austria, was a classical child prodigy. He composed over 600 masterpieces across genres like opera, symphony, and chamber music. Known for his elegant, balanced style, his famous works include "The Marriage of Figaro," "Don Giovanni," "The Magic Flute," and Symphony No. 40. He is considered one of Western music's greatest composers.
Indiana’s Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1930 by Ferdinand Schaefer, performs about 200 concerts a year for 350,000 people. It has 30+ recordings across classical and pops, tours to Europe, and has appeared at Carnegie Hall.
Jeannette Sorrell is an American conductor and harpsichordist. She is the founder and artistic director of Apollo's Fire, a Grammy Award-winning Baroque orchestra based in Cleveland, Ohio. She is widely recognized as a premier interpreter of Baroque and Classical repertoire.
Chicago-born clarinetist Anthony McGill is principal clarinetist of the New York Philharmonic, its first African American section principal. Former Met Opera and Cincinnati Symphony player; won a 2000 Avery Fisher Career Grant; released Anthony McGill (2010).
