Afie Jurvanen, the musician behind Bahamas, was a longtime Toronto mainstay and collaborator with Feist, The Weather Station, and Kathleen Edwards. He moved to Nova Scotia in 2019 and recorded Bootcut in Nashville with Vince Gill, Sam Bush, and Mickey Raphael.

Leith Ross

Leith Ross, a Canadian indie folk/pop artist from Ottawa, crafts honest, vulnerable lyrics on queerness and mental health. Known for their viral hit "We'll Never Have Sex," they released the EP Motherwell (2020), the Juno-nominated album To Learn (2023), and I Can See the Future (2025). Ross received the John Prine Songwriter Fellowship and has toured with artists like Lord Huron.
