German rock band Bap, formed in Cologne in 1976 by Wolfgang Niedecken, is known for addressing social issues with their music, influenced by the Rolling Stones and the Kinks. Their defining song, "Verdamp Lang Her," became iconic, particularly for its live renditions. Close friend of Bruce Springsteen, Niedecken led the band through various live and studio successes, celebrated by the 2002 Wim Wenders documentary, "Viel Passiert – Der BAP Film."
