Big Country

Formed in Scotland by Stuart Adamson, rock band Big Country became known for their distinct bagpipe-like guitars and anthemic sound. Their 1983 platinum debut album, The Crossing, featured the hit In a Big Country. Despite lineup changes and shifting commercial fortunes, they released music for decades before Adamson's death in 2001.
