Birth Control is a German rock band known for their progressive rock, hard rock, and krautrock sound, originally formed in West Berlin in 1966. Co-founded by Hugo Egon Balder and Bernd Koschmidder, the band grew to prominence in the 1970s under the leadership of long-standing members Bernd Noske and Bruno Frenzel, achieving a major hit with their 1972 song "Gamma Ray" from the acclaimed album Hoodoo Man. Despite a hiatus following Frenzel's death in 1983 and Noske's passing in 2014, the group reformed in 2016 with a revised lineup that continues to release new material and perform live.
