John Doe Folk Trio, led by X frontman John Doe, originated in Austin, TX. Known for folk and roots music with a punk sensibility, the trio features bassist Kevin Smith (Willie Nelson) and drummer Conrad Choucroun. Their album is "Fables in a Foreign Land". Doe, a Los Angeles punk pioneer, is also an actor and Grammy-nominated author. He co-wrote "Destroying Angels" and has collaborated with many artists.
