LineUp

Johannes Brahms, born in Hamburg, Germany, was a pivotal Romantic era composer. He masterfully blended classical forms with rich harmonies and lyrical melodies in his symphonies, concertos, and chamber music. Celebrated for works like "Hungarian Dances" and his "Lullaby," he is considered one of classical music's "Three Bs" alongside Bach and Beethoven, leaving an enduring legacy.
Dallas Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1900, is the largest performing arts organization in the Southwest. Led by Music Director Fabio Luisi, it presents 150+ concerts yearly at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, plus 200+ chamber concerts across Dallas.
Fabio Luisi is an Italian conductor and composer born in Genoa. He currently serves as the music director of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, principal conductor of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, and chief conductor of the NHK Symphony Orchestra. A Grammy Award winner, he is widely recognized for his leading interpretations of Italian opera and late Romantic repertoire, as well as his work as a passionate perfume maker.
Jader Bignamini is an Italian conductor and clarinetist born in Crema. He studied at the Piacenza Music Conservatory and began his career as a clarinetist with Milan's Orchestra Sinfonica La Verdi, where he later served as resident conductor. In January 2020, he was named the 18th music director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Founded in 1914, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) has thrived despite challenges, with highlights like the first radio symphonic concert in 1922. Under directors like Ossip Gabrilowitsch, Paul Paray, and Leonard Slatkin, the DSO gained international acclaim and won several awards. It overcame financial woes and now thrives at the restored Orchestra Hall. Notable collaborations include Chandos, Mercury, and Naxos labels. Jader Bignamini became music director in 2020, continuing DSO’s legacy of excellence.
