Bakersfield-born jazz pianist and composer David Benoit is known for his lyrical style and crossover jazz sound. Influenced by Brubeck and Guaraldi, he gained fame with the 1987 Grammy-nominated "Every Step of the Way." Benoit has released numerous Top Ten jazz albums, collaborated with artists like Russ Freeman and Dave Koz, and worked on orchestral projects like 2022's "A Midnight Rendezvous."
