Michigan native Brian Vander Ark gained fame as the frontman of the Verve Pipe, known for their 1997 hit "The Freshmen," which won an ASCAP Pop Award. The band released the platinum album Villains and collaborated with Adam Schlesinger. Vander Ark has also pursued solo projects and acted in films, including "Rock Star" and "Road Kill."
