Formed on Chicago’s northwest side, the Buckinghams were a ’60s rock group blending harmonies with soul-style brass. They scored a million-selling No. 1 with “Kind of a Drag” and had hits like “Don’t You Care,” “Susan,” and “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy.”
