Candlemass and Carcass

Carcass are a death metal band known for their ferocious, uncompromising sound. They returned with the single Under The Scalpel Blade (2019) and the 4-song EP Despicable (2020), leading into the album Torn Arteries, recorded over about a year in England and Sweden.

Candlemass, formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 1984, pioneered epic doom metal. Known for thunderous riffs and operatic vocals, their debut "Epicus Doomicus Metallicus" defined the genre. They are one of the "big four of doom metal." Popular songs include "Solitude" and "At the Gallows End." Their album "Candlemass" earned a Swedish Grammy, and "The Door to Doom" received a Grammy nomination, featuring Tony Iommi. Their EP "Black Star" was released in 2025.
