Chris Thile, born in Oceanside, CA, is a virtuoso mandolinist and singer, known for progressive bluegrass. Founding member of Nickel Creek and Punch Brothers, he won Grammys for collaborations with Yo-Yo Ma and Punch Brothers. He hosted NPR's Live from Here, and has worked with Brad Mehldau and Béla Fleck. His solo albums include Deceiver and Laysongs.
The Louisville Orchestra, established in 1937, is known for its bold contemporary music and over 450 commissioned works. They've released 140+ albums, secured Grammy nods, and won 19 ASCAP awards. Famed for collaborations with Storm Large and Yuja Wang, the LO is led by Teddy Abrams.
Berkeley-born Teddy Abrams is a composer, conductor, and instrumentalist known for leading the Louisville Orchestra since 2014. He blends classical with folk, jazz, and bluegrass, collaborating with Béla Fleck and Aoife O'Donovan. A Decca artist, he's noted for premieres like Muhammad Ali Portrait and performances with Yuja Wang.
