His 1988 self-titled debut album, featuring his two self-penned hits "Voodoo Thing" and "Five Long Years," was the fastest-selling album in Canadian history. James' latest album, 2021's 'Open Road', won a 2022 Juno Award for "Best Blues Album" and was Nominated for the 2023 "Blues Rock Album of the Year" at the Blues Music Awards. The album debuted at #2 on iTunes Blues Chart and peaked at #10 on the Billboard Blues Chart.
