La Québécois band La Chicane, formed in Abitibi, rose to fame with their 1997 hit *Calvaire*. Known for rock and francophone pop, they won ADISQ and Juno Awards.
Danny Rampling, born in Streatham, London, is a seminal DJ in the British house scene, known for introducing Balearic beats. Founder of Shoom and Pure club nights, he helped pioneer early rave culture alongside Paul Oakenfold and others. Rampling hosted Radio 1's Love Groove Dance Party and released mix albums with Metropole, Mixmag, and Virgin. Despite a brief setback in 1997, he returned strong with Club Nation in 1998.
Seb Fontaine, born in West London, rose to fame as a DJ through Radio 1 and Global Underground. Known for progressive house, he had residencies at Cream and Ministry of Sound. Fontaine's "Prototype" mixes and taste for cutting-edge tracks, along with collaborations at Malibu Stacey with Craig Richards, highlighted his influence. He built a massive following with gigs throughout the '90s.
Tall Paul is a UK music icon known for energizing dancefloors worldwide. Starting at Turnmills, he's a pioneer of London's pirate radio scene and held a Trade residency. He played major venues like Ministry of Sound and Cream and gained international fame with sets across the U.S., Ibiza, and beyond.
Todd Terry, born in Brooklyn, defined 1980s New York house music by blending disco, Chicago house, and hip-hop. Known for hits "Missing" remix, "Keep on Jumpin'," and "Something Goin' On," he collaborated with the Jungle Brothers and remixed artists like Björk and Janet Jackson. Terry founded Freeze Records and influenced U.K. rave. His collaborations span Kevin Saunderson to House Gospel Choir.
