Dublin-born folk singer Damien Dempsey broke through with the Contender EP (1995) and single Dublin Town (1997). His album Shots topped the Irish chart and went platinum; he won Best Irish Male at the Meteor Awards (2006, 2007).
Irish musician and songwriter whose songs have been part of life in Ireland for 30 years. Known for The Dance of the Cherry Trees, Passage West, and All The Ways You Wander; recorded in London with producer John Reynolds and singer Pauline Scanlon.
Pauline Scanlon, a West Kerry native, blends traditional Irish folk with modern style. Known for her steely yet fragile voice, she’s a co-founder of FairPlé and a vocal arts activist.
Kíla is an award-winning Irish folk fusion band from Dublin, formed in the late 1980s. They create contemporary Irish World music, blending traditional instruments like whistles and uilleann pipes with global influences and primal rhythms. Known for energetic performances, Kíla composed scores for Oscar-nominated films like "The Secret of Kells" and "Wolfwalkers," collaborating with Bruno Coulais. They earned an IFTA for "Arracht" soundtrack.
Dublin-born, Wexford-based Colm Mac Con Iomaire: violinist/composer, Frames & Kíla founder; acclaimed solo albums; sold-out tours; film/TV scores incl. Late Afternoon.
