Born David Smet in Boulogne-Billancourt, David Hallyday is a French singer-songwriter, son of Johnny Hallyday and Sylvie Vartan. His debut True Cool (1988) sold nearly a million; “Ooh La La” charted in the U.S. He wrote all music on Sang Pour Sang (1999).
