The Dead Kennedys, formed in 1978 in San Francisco, were a revolutionary hardcore punk band led by Jello Biafra. Their 1985 album, Frankenchrist, led to an obscenity trial, showcasing Biafra's fight for free speech. Despite disbanding in 1987, they left an enduring legacy, influencing countless punk bands.
