Originating in San Francisco in 1978, the Dead Kennedys, led by Jello Biafra, fused revolutionary politics with hardcore punk, creating iconic songs like "California Über Alles" and "Holiday in Cambodia." Known for their confrontational style, they famously faced obscenity charges for the 1985 album "Frankenchrist." They launched their own label, Alternative Tentacles, and influenced numerous punk bands. Post-breakup, members pursued solo projects, and the band later reunited without Biafra. Their legacy endures through live albums, reissues, and their rebellious spirit.
