Formed in Basildon, England, Depeche Mode are pioneering synth-pop/synth-rock innovators. They broke through with platinum LP Some Great Reward, scored hits like “Personal Jesus,” and went No. 1 with Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees.

Nine Inch Nails

Trent Reznor, from Pennsylvania, is renowned for pioneering industrial rock with Nine Inch Nails in the '90s, known for hits like "Closer" and "Hurt." The band, often a solo project until Atticus Ross joined in 2016, won Grammys in 1992 and 1996. NIN's evolving style now includes atmospheric electronics. Reznor's collaborations include film scores with Ross, earning Oscars and crafting works for artists like Halsey. NIN's impressive live shows and influential chart-topping albums, such as The Downward Spiral, cement their iconic status in music history.
