Born in Washington, D.C., Ginuwine is an R&B star known for hits like "Pony" and "So Anxious." Collaborated with producer Timbaland. Known for sultry vocals, platinum albums, and acting roles, he also joined Tank and Tyrese in TGT.
Born in D.C., DJ Kool fused feel-good go-go with hip-hop. Known for "Let Me Clear My Throat," he revitalized old-school rap with live recordings and collaborations with Funkmaster Flex.
Candyman, born John B. Shaffer III in South Central L.A., is known for the playful pop-rap hit "Knockin' Boots." A former Ice-T Rhyme Syndicate affiliate, he charted Top Ten on the Hot 100. Collaborating with Johnny J, Candyman released "Ain't No Shame in My Game" in 1990 and worked with producers like DJ Quik and Prince Paul. He appeared in Nas' "Where Are They Now" remix and partnered with J Bigga in 2011.
Color Me Badd, formed in 1985 in Oklahoma City, delivered hits like "I Wanna Sex You Up," achieving two Grammy nods, multiple awards, and over 12 million records sold. The band's music featured in movies and TV shows like "New Jack City" and "Glee." Originally with four members, now Mark Calderon leads, touring with '90s icons like Salt N Pepa.
Digital Underground, formed in Oakland by Shock-G and Chopmaster J, is known for their P-Funk-inspired style. Their debut album, *Sex Packets*, featured the hit "The Humpty Dance" and went platinum. They collaborated with Tupac Shakur on the gold EP *This Is an EP Release*. Despite shifting hip-hop trends, Digital Underground's innovative, humorous style left a lasting impact. Shock-G passed away in 2021.
