Dirk Michaelis

Dirk Michaelis, born 1961 in Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz), is a German singer and composer. Known for thoughtful lyrics and diverse styles blending R&B, traditional, and pop, his signature song is "Als ich fortging". He fronted the band Karussell and maintains a solo career, with albums like "Mir gehörn" and "Solo Live". Michaelis collaborated with José Carreras and serves as an ambassador for the José Carreras Leukämie-Stiftung.
