Dirk von Lowtzow, born in Offenburg in 1971, is a German musician, singer, and guitarist. He is widely known as the frontman of the indie rock band Tocotronic, a key figure in the "Hamburger Schule" movement since 1994. Lowtzow's poetic lyrics explore politics and alienation. He also contributes to the electronic project Phantom/Ghost and has collaborated with numerous artists. His band Tocotronic has released acclaimed albums, including "Nie wieder Krieg" (2022), and he received the Wiesbadener Literaturpreis in 2022.
