The Black Dahlia Murder is an American melodic death metal band from Waterford, Michigan, formed in 2001. Taking their name from the infamous unsolved 1947 murder of Elizabeth Short, the group became prominent figures in the American metal scene with their technical and aggressive sound. Following the death of founding lead vocalist Trevor Strnad in 2022, long-time rhythm guitarist Brian Eschbach transitioned to lead vocals, anchoring the band alongside bassist Max Lavelle, drummer Alan Cassidy, and returning guitarist Ryan Knight.
The Used, formed in Orem, Utah, in 2000, are celebrated for their versatile post-hardcore, emo, and alternative rock sound.
