Finnish metal powerhouses Ensiferum (folk, melodic death, Viking metal, formed 1995 in Helsinki) and Swallow the Sun (death-doom, melodic death, gothic metal, formed 2000 in Jyväskylä) unite their distinct sounds. Ensiferum is known for battle anthems and heroic choirs, while Swallow the Sun delivers emotional, atmospheric melancholy. Both bands have acclaimed albums and chart success, showcasing their influential Finnish metal legacy.
