Born in NYC to Puerto Rican parents, Eddie Palmieri is a renowned Latin jazz and salsa pianist known as "El Maestro." His innovative style blends Afro-Caribbean rhythms with modern jazz, drawing influences from McCoy Tyner and Herbie Hancock. He formed La Perfecta in 1961, known for its distinctive trombone sound influencing salsa music. Eddie has won nine Grammy and three Latin Grammy Awards, and his notable albums include "La Perfecta", "Sun of Latin Music", and "The Truth: La Verdad". He has collaborated with artists like Tito Rodriguez and Herbie Mann and his music has been showcased in films like "Carlito's Way". He is lauded for his dynamic arrangements and remains a pivotal figure in Latin music history.
