Classically trained composer and pianist Fernando Ortega entered the Christian music scene in the early 1990s, known for an earthy sound that defied pop trends. A Rio Grande native descended from eight generations of Mexican weavers, he blends Celtic, bluegrass, classical and Latin American influences.
