Franziska Troegner

Franziska Troegner is a German actress renowned for her extensive work across theater, film, and television, particularly her long association with the prestigious Berliner Ensemble. Born in East Berlin, she made her professional stage debut in 1959 and spent nearly two decades with the ensemble, performing in numerous iconic productions of Bertolt Brecht's works. She achieved international recognition for her breakthrough portrayal of Mrs. Gloop in Tim Burton's 2005 adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Beyond her theater and film achievements, Troegner has built a prolific television career with numerous roles in German series, television movies, and prominent voice-dubbing projects.
