The Cowsills, a family band from Newport, Rhode Island, inspired The Partridge Family TV series. Born in Hibbing, MN, Gary Puckett led the Union Gap in the late '60s with melodramatic soft rock hits like "Young Girl" and "Lady Willpower." Known for Civil War-era costumes, they topped charts and played venues like the White House. After hits dwindled, Puckett pursued a solo career and joined the revival circuit, including opening for the Monkees.

Detroit-born Dennis Yost led Classics IV, known for hits like "Spooky," "Stormy," and "Traces." Blending soft pop and Southern rock, they shaped late-'60s charts and inspired Atlanta Rhythm Section.
