George Dalaras

Greek singer and composer George Dalaras was born in Piraeus. Renowned for collaborations with Kougioumtzis, Loizos, and others, he embraced international genres alongside artists like Al di Meola and Sting. Dalaras has performed over 1,000 concerts globally, including two monumental 1983 shows in Athens with 160,000 attendees. With over 80 albums sold in excess of 15 million copies, he's received numerous honors, including Cypriot citizenship, a 1994 Kennedy Award, and a role as a UN Goodwill Ambassador since 2006.
