Howe Gelb, born in Pennsylvania, found his muse in Tucson, AZ, forming Giant Sand. Known for blending rock and country with playful lyrics, Gelb's band released influential albums like "The Love Songs" and "Chore of Enchantment". Collaborated with Neil Young, John Convertino, and others, they captured a distinct desert rock sound. Despite retiring in 2016, Gelb revived Giant Sand in 2018, continuing his musical journey.
