Gilbert and Sullivan

London natives W.S. Gilbert (librettist) and Arthur Sullivan (composer) formed a Victorian-era theatrical partnership. They revolutionized musical theatre with 14 comic operas, known as Savoy Operas, blending witty, satirical lyrics with memorable melodies. Famous works include "H.M.S. Pinafore," "The Pirates of Penzance," and "The Mikado." Their "topsy-turvy" worlds and influence on the genre are widely celebrated.
