Glacier Symphony with Glacier Symphony Orchestra and Chorale and Rhapsody in Blue

Glacier Symphony is a professional orchestra and chorale based in Kalispell, Montana. Serving the Flathead Valley region for over 40 years, the organization is led by Artistic Director and Conductor John Zoltek and performs a year-round schedule of classical masterpieces, holiday traditions, and outdoor concerts at the state-of-the-art Wachholz College Center.

"Rhapsody in Blue," composed by George Gershwin in 1924, is an iconic American musical composition. Originating in New York City, it masterfully blends classical music with jazz and blues, creating a distinctly American, modernist style. Known for its memorable melodies and the famous opening clarinet glissando, it established Gershwin as an eminent composer. Commissioned by Paul Whiteman and orchestrated by Ferde Grofé, this work is celebrated for defining the Jazz Age.
