Gonzalo Rubalcaba

Gonzalo Rubalcaba, born in Havana, is a multi-Grammy-winning pianist and composer known for merging jazz with Afro-Cuban influences. Discovered by Dizzy Gillespie, he won acclaim with albums like "Nocturne" and "Land of the Sun" with Charlie Haden. He co-founded 5Passion Records and collaborated with Ron Carter and Jack DeJohnette on "SKYLINE." Rubalcaba has earned 18 Grammy nominations and teaches at the University of Miami.
