Lonnie Plaxico is an American jazz double bassist, composer, and producer born in Chicago, Illinois in 1960. He is widely recognized for his prominent roles with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, Jack DeJohnette's Special Edition, and as the long-time musical director for Cassandra Wilson.
St. Louis-born post-bop saxophonist Greg Osby played R&B, funk and blues as a teen, later settling in New York. An M-Base Collective member, he worked with Jack DeJohnette and Herbie Hancock. Debuted solo on 1987’s Sound Theatre.
Multi-Grammy-nominated and winning drummer Eric Harland has played on 400+ recordings and multiple film scores. Recognized by the Boston Globe, New York Times and DownBeat, he’s performed with artists like Joe Henderson and Wynton Marsalis.
Born in Menomonie, Wisconsin, pianist Ethan Iverson blends post-bop, classical and indie rock. Co-founded The Bad Plus (These Are the Vistas, For All I Care) and earned a Grammy nod for The Bad Plus Joshua Redman. Blue Note: Every Note Is True.
