Born in New York, bassist Heiri Känzig is celebrated for his virtuosity across jazz, improvisation, and World Music. A top European bassist, he studied in Graz, Vienna, and Zurich and gained acclaim with the Vienna Art Orchestra. With a career spanning over 130 CDs, he has collaborated with Art Farmer, John Scofield, Billy Cobham, Charlie Mariano, and many others. He formed a notable quartet with Art Lande and Kenny Wheeler in the '90s and recorded six albums with the Thierry Lang Trio on Blue Note. Känzig tours worldwide and has performed at major festivals globally.
