The Tijuana Brass, led by trumpeter Herb Alpert, originated in Los Angeles in 1962, crafting a distinctive blend of Latin jazz, pop, and easy listening. Known for their "Ameriachi" sound and Alpert's smooth trumpet, they achieved immense popularity with hits like "The Lonely Bull," "A Taste of Honey," "Spanish Flea," and "Tijuana Taxi." The group earned multiple Grammy Awards and sold over 72 million records, even outselling The Beatles at one point. Alpert also co-founded A&M Records, leaving an indelible mark on music.
