Seattle's Death Cab for Cutie, led by Ben Gibbard, mixes sensitive songwriting and memorable melodies. Known for hits like "Soul Meets Body" and "I Will Possess Your Heart," they gained fame with albums like "Plans" and "Narrow Stairs," achieving Grammy nominations and Billboard success. Collaborated with The Crystal Method and appeared on iconic soundtracks. Filter's sound evolved, marked by albums like "The Amalgamut" and "The Sun Comes Out Tonight." Despite lineup changes, Patrick remains the creative force, with recent work including 2023's "The Algorithm."
With 20M records sold, 1 billion streams, and a GRAMMY® nod, BUSH, known for hits like "Glycerine" and "Machinehead," remains a rock staple since 1994’s debut *Sixteen Stone*.
Lit, a SoCal power punk band from the post-grunge era, is known for hits like "My Own Worst Enemy," "Miserable," and "Zip-Lock." Their album "A Place in the Sun" is RIAA Certified Platinum. The band, featuring original members Ajay and Jeremy Popoff, and Kevin Baldes, won a Billboard Music Award and continues to tour, captivating fans globally.
The Violent Femmes, formed in early '80s Milwaukee by Gordon Gano, Brian Ritchie, and Victor DeLorenzo, are pioneers of alternative rock known for their jittery, catchy tunes. Discovered by Pretenders' James Honeyman-Scott, their 1983 debut album, featuring hits like "Blister in the Sun," found cult status. Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Liz Phair, born in Chicago, is a feminist trailblazer known for her candid lyrics and guitar virtuosity. Her breakout album "Exile In Guyville" is ranked among Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums. With three U.S. gold albums and two Grammy nods, she's sold over five million records globally. Phair began with the Girly-Sound tapes and signed with Matador Records. An icon, she's also a visual artist and author, appearing on TV worldwide.
Tonic, a GRAMMY-nominated rock trio from 1996, includes Emerson Hart, Jeff Russo, and Dan Lavery. Known for anthems like "Lemon Parade," they create music with honest lyrics and memorable melodies. After a hiatus, they returned to the charts in 2010, and reimagined "Lemon Parade" acoustically in 2016. Tonic continues to tour, highlighting their strong brotherhood and enduring rock legacy.
