Manfred Krug (1937-2016), born in Duisburg, Germany, was a celebrated actor, singer, and author. He rose to prominence in East German films, often as a socialist hero. A popular jazz and chansons singer, his songs included "Es steht ein Haus in New Orleans." He collaborated with Günther Fischer and Uschi Brüning on albums like "Auserwählt," earning the German Jazz Award. Krug also starred in West German TV series such as "Tatort."
