The Houghton Weavers, formed in 1975 in Westhoughton, Lancashire, are an English folk music group celebrated for their blend of traditional Lancashire dialect songs and humor. They gained fame with their BBC TV show "Sit Thi Deawn" and multiple Radio 2 series. Popular songs include "The Blackpool Belle" and "Uncle Joe's Mintballs." Founding members received the Freedom of Westhoughton. Their motto is "Keep Folk Smiling."
