Founded in 1930 by Ferdinand Schaefer, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is the largest performing arts group in Indiana. It became fully professional in 1937 and has released over three dozen recordings, touring internationally and performing at Carnegie Hall.

Jun Märkl is a German conductor widely recognized for his refined interpretations of core Germanic repertoire and French Impressionist music. Born in Munich to a musical family, he has held numerous prestigious positions worldwide and serves as the Music Director of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan, as well as the Chief Conductor of the Residentie Orchestra of The Hague.

Mahler's Resurrection

Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 2, "Resurrection," is a monumental post-Romantic work composed between 1888-1894.
