Known for his masterful guitar skills and authentic storytelling, Parr remains a significant figure in traditional music.
Bonny Light Horseman, featuring Anaïs Mitchell, Eric D. Johnson, and Josh Kaufman, fuses folk brilliance. Their debut earned a Grammy nod, with "Deep in Love" up for Best American Roots Performance. Mitchell is acclaimed for "Hadestown," Johnson for Fruit Bats and scoring, and Kaufman for collaborations with Bob Weir to Taylor Swift. Their bond creates a powerful, vulnerable sound.
Tune-Yards' album Better Dreaming blends infectious art-pop and funk with themes of self-love and liberation. Hailing from California, Merrill Garbus and bandmate Brenner craft rhythmic, danceable tunes while their 3-year-old adds vocals. A Farm Aid board member, she captivates with rock-infused sound and fierce lyrics.
Tommy Prine debuted his album "This Far South," co-produced by Ruston Kelly and Gena Johnson, showcasing growth and storytelling. He has opened for Tyler Childers.
Tennessee-born Amythyst Kiah merges rootsy alt-rock and darkly cinematic styles. Her 2021 album "Wary + Strange" made Rolling Stone’s top 25 Country and Americana list. Sunny War, born Sydney Lyndella Ward in Nashville, revitalizes folk and blues with modern themes. John Moreland, born in Bixby, Oklahoma, is known for folk-rock. He recorded the introspective Visitor album at home, playing most instruments. GRAMMY-nominated Mary Gauthier, born in the US, is celebrated for her powerful Americana songwriting. Starting in local venues, their profound chemistry and masterful songs explore life’s mysteries and joys, amassing hundreds of millions of streams.
Iron & Wine, led by Sam Beam, hails from South Carolina and is known for intimate indie folk with albums like "The Creek Drank the Cradle" and "Our Endless Numbered Days." Beam's versatile style ranges from lo-fi to polished sounds, collaborating with artists such as Calexico, Band of Horses' Ben Bridwell, and Jesca Hoop. Evanston Folk Festival returns to lakefront at Dawes Park: Saturday, September 6 + Sunday, September 7 from 11:30am to 8:30pm. Join us on our spectacular lake front for a celebration of the rich folk music tradition that has guided Space since day one, and has so many roots in our Evanston community. A folky folk festival if ever there was one, and with the most stunning views of Lake Michigan, we're honored to be entrusted with this special location and responsibility.

Two-day General Admission Tier 2 Price: $99.50 (Available 4/23 at 10am)

Children's Tickets

Children under the age of 12 receive free admission to the festival. Children aged 12 - 16 will require a half-priced children's ticket for admission, which will be available for purchase at the entry gate, even if the event is sold out in advance.
