J. Cole, born Jermaine Lamarr Cole, is an American rapper and record producer raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He gained widespread recognition as the first artist signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label, subsequently releasing a string of consecutive number-one albums including Cole World: The Sideline Story and the critically acclaimed 2014 Forest Hills Drive. Known for his introspective lyricism and storytelling, he also co-founded Dreamville Records and has earned multiple Grammy Awards.
