Singer-songwriter Jackie Venson's version of the blues, a mix of R&B and psychedelic rock, has invigorated Austin's music scene with its refreshingly electric sound. She became the first Black woman to be named Best Guitarist at the Austin Music Awards, and recently performed at Rolling Stone's Future of Music showcase at SXSW.

Kam Franklin is a singer-songwriter, music producer, activist, writer, orator, model, visual artist, and actress from Houston, TX. Best known for her work with the Gulf Coast soul band, The Suffers, she began singing gospel music at the age of five.
