Formed in Kent by former Prisoners organist James Taylor, the James Taylor Quartet became central to London's acid jazz movement. Known for groove-jazz soundtracks, covers, and hits like The Theme from Starsky and Hutch, the band also contributed Austin's Theme to Austin Powers. Taylor has collaborated with U2, the Pogues, and the Wonder Stuff.
