Known for his lyrical wit and unique voice, he achieved fame with the 1996 hit "Flashnizm" and the Top Ten single "Liebes Lied." He later launched a successful reggae career, releasing albums like Mercedes Dance, and is recognized for his soulful, funky solo work. He has collaborated with the Beastie Boys and established the influential Eimsbush label.
