Surinamese artist Jeangu Macrooy moved to the Netherlands in 2014, collaborated with producer Perquisite, and released his debut EP "Brave Enough" in 2016. Known for soulful sounds, Jeangu's album "High On You" (2017) led to performances at Lowlands and North Sea Jazz. He represented the Netherlands at Eurovision 2021 with "Birth Of A New Age". In 2022, his album "Summer Moon" blended soul and electronic influences. Jeangu also earned acclaim portraying Jesus in the rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar.
