His most recent album, launched in June 2019, marked a new departure in style and genre. "The Heat Is On" is Joe’s unique interpretation of the soundtrack of the 1980s, reimagined with a full 1950s Big Band.

Growing up as the youngest of five children, Joe was surrounded by music, with two parents in the business: songwriter and TV personality Richard Stilgoe and opera singer Annabel Hunt.
