Jonathan Richman, born in Natick, Massachusetts, began his proto-punk band, the Modern Lovers, in the 70s, evolving into an acoustic balladeer known for hits like "Ice Cream Man." Famous for singing in Spanish and English, his later work included Latin and raga influences. Collaborated with Ric Ocasek and appeared in "There's Something About Mary."
