Musiq Soulchild, born in Philadelphia, is a key figure in the neo-soul movement, blending influences like Marvin Gaye with hip-hop. With 13 Grammy nominations, he's famed for raw vocals and hits like "Love" and "Buddy." He signed with Def Jam in 2000.
Soul II Soul, led by Jazzie B, emerged from London in the late '80s blending hip-hop, house, and R&B. Known for hits "Keep On Movin'" and "Back to Life," the group achieved Grammy wins, international acclaim, and U.K. chart success. Featuring rotating vocalists like Caron Wheeler, they released several successful albums and singles throughout the '90s.
