The NYC Capris, a doo-wop group from Queens, formed in 1957. Known for hits "There's a Moon out Tonight" and "Morse Code of Love," they gained popularity in the '60s, reuniting to perform at top venues. They recorded under labels like Old Town and Ambient Sound, with "Morse Code of Love" later covered by Manhattan Transfer.
Born in Raceland, LA, Jimmy Clanton became a teen idol with hits like "Just a Dream" and "Venus in Blue Jeans." Known for his R&B influence and songwriting, he starred in the film *Go Johnny Go.* Collaborating with Dick Holler, his music showcased New Orleans roots. Clanton joined the U.S. Army and later became a DJ, performed in oldies shows, and experienced a religious conversion in the '80s.
